I would like to introduce this week's Ito blog to introduce the brand newly introduced this fall and winter. I would like to introduce the items sequentially on Instagram from Monday, so please look forward to that as well.
It was the introduction of a new brand after a long time, but I was also very excited about it personally, and that brand that I talked about at the store some time ago!
The brand name is "unizon special"
It's called Unison Special.
Unison is a word that means "same" and "unity", and in the world of music and dance, multiple people and parts perform the same pitch and the same choreography at the same time. It is a way of expression that is performed to create strength and unity.
It is combined with the meaning of a special union and the "Union Special", a vintage sewing machine made in the United States, which is indispensable for making another vintage wear.
The theme of the brand is based on the concept that it is unlikely, and aims to combine vintage atmosphere and style with modern casual wear.
In that sense, it is a synergistic and effective unison. The axis is Amekaji, but it is not a replica that is common in Japanese Amekaji brands, but an attractive brand with an idea that is unlikely to have good salt plums.
In this blog, I would like to talk about the encounter with Unison Special and the story of the brand's design approach from my personal point of view.
In the first place, I encountered the brand, but the two people who are designing the brand have been dating from my previous job, and there are times when they were free, but we have been dating for about 10 years since we met.
These are the two people who were in charge of design and production at Barns until a few years ago. Now it doesn't work very well, but it's the two people who started and managed Burns Highest, my favorite brand in Burns.
To tell you a little more about it, one person made that Burns High est logo, and the other person found the ultra-thick honeycomb waffle fabric of High est in one corner of the warehouse of the fabric maker. The person who found the fabric reprinted it. The line of English characters of Unison's brand piss names is reminiscent of the Highest logo. Of course, there are many other famous items, and in a sense, these two people have created an exquisite position that is not found in other brands on the current Amekaji brand map of Burns.
From that time on, I was often told at the exhibition, and I enjoyed talking about the original story of graphic design, music, used clothes, and street brands every time.
We both really like clothes, especially old clothes. Also, my favorite place is maniac, and the style that incorporates such used clothes is stylish. I was always looking forward to seeing that style.
In that sense, there is a place where you can communicate with modact designers. All generations, including me. I've always felt the connection. It was a brand that started by such people, so it was expected from the beginning.
Originally, after leaving Burns about five years ago and working with several brands as a free designer, the two took over the apparel OEM company and resigned and launched Unison Special.
It was a brand that started in spring and summer of 2025, and I think it was around the fall of 2024 that designers were invited directly to the exhibition from the first season and saw it.
Personally, I was excited about what kind of items I could see. However, since the first season was the spring and summer season, I personally felt that I was in the category of American casualty. Then, at the second season's winter exhibition this fall, I decided to start handling it because it exceeded that category firmly.
It really was beyond expectations. Even if you have a long career, it's amazing to be able to express your color firmly from such an early stage. I thought I had my own power.
Unison's items are mainly sweatshirts and T-shirts that are convincing to hear from former Burns. Amekazi-based casual dress inspired by vintage used clothes as the concept is based on the concept. The main items are items that you are familiar with.
While there are so many classic casual items, what is different from others? What is the color of the brand?
From my personal point of view, I think it lies in the balance between the form and the texture of the item and the idea of the vintage.
All the items purchased this time have unique characteristics in the form when actually worn, and the fit when worn is also good. If the form has its own uniqueness, it may be exaggerated, uncomfortable, or patient, but it is not possible.
Also, the focus of the item is very maniac, and the things you see are fine! I'm going to go there. Designer's personal favorite parts are in the details, and it's great to be shaped! You can feel the color of the designer when you wear it.
However, since the item is made up of ordinary casual clothes in a good sense, only things that can be worn normally as everyday clothes. It's a very important point for us to sell real closes. In that respect, it may be better than modakt.
It's a maniac and very private dress, but it's nice to wear it. I think such a place is very similar to modact, and like modact, the designer has a very attractive taste like modact.
